An Imperfect UNion
An Imperfect Union: artifacts
After redesigning some of its branding and putting together some short trailers for the series, I was brought on to An Imperfect Union as an editor and videographer. Deadlines were tight and shoots were long but it was fulfilling nonetheless. One of our pieces, Should the U.S. government pay reparations? went on to win a Capitol Emmy award for Outstanding Politics/Government - Program/Special.
biggest takeaway: pushing boundaries can lead to new opportunities and that video is a medium which excels at presenting different points of view.
Another artifact from my time with An Imperfect Union was my first try at rotoscoping/object removal. Unfortunately due to time constraints an object (a light stand) was squarely in the middle of a shot of our two guests meeting and shaking hands. After the fact I decided to try my hand at removing the lighting stand myself, and the Before/After below is the result.
